Fashion is in Bloom at Clerys March 2004

For a fresh new look this spring, Clerys have a great new selection of designs with this seasons fashion trends in focus. Modern feminine glamour is the mood of the season, as the Carrie Bradshaw look takes off. Gone are the hard lines and dark colours as fashion welcomes a brighter forecast for our wardrobes.

Clerys is awash with colour, as pastel shades and electrifying colours sets the tone. Imitz and Miss Selfridges combine some of the liveliest colours of the season; yellow, green, blue, red and pink to create dramatic tops that will brighten up any outfit.

Prints and pattern are also splashed everywhere, sending this season into full bloom. Michel Ambers spring collection features a striking mix of beautiful and bold flower patterns and prints in soft pastel shades. Steilmann designs are refreshing using flower stencilling with an original mix of colour. For a softer look Kaliko have the perfect strappy dress, with ruffled flower trim. Continuing the feminine fashion story; Country Casuals, have a fantastic array of floaty fabrics, waterfall necklines and fluttering hemlines

Fashion has turned on the charm this season with throw backs from the 50’s feminine glamour. Full skirts and dresses from Miss Selfridges and Turnover ooze femininity. To personalise the look rolled up Gas jeans with a cute tee from Warehouse and a pair of designer sunglasses from the accessories department should set you out from the crowd. For something a little more daring finish the look with a pair of 50’s Peek-a –boo heels from Dolcis and a pair of fashion tights.

Fusion between old and new is all the rage. For a party look mix 1920’s style flapper dresses from Miss Selfridges with drain pipe trousers over jeans from Gas. Imitz also offer an updated vintage feeling with open necklines, and visible underskirts, in an array of bright and pastel colours.

The classic trench coat has been redesigned and resurrected this season. Introduced with a new take on lapel, buttons and pocket detail, this chic coat is here to stay. Turnover’s classic patent leather version; may just get you praying for rain!

Tailoring for women has become much more feminine and stylish this season. The hour glass figure worshiped in the 1950’s has made a return, leaving masculine silhouettes a thing of the past. Jackets are fitted with nipped in waists, and round or scooped necklines. Alexon and Minuet Petite offer these pretty suit jackets, with feminine three quarter length sleeve detail.

Keeping clothes simple and classic; Regine have beautiful linen suits and dresses with organza trims. Also, well regarded for classic tailoring is Dublin-based Libra Designs. Libra’s spring collection includes flatteringly cut dresses and suits, complemented by coordinating jackets, shawls and hats.

Polka dots and ribbons are also key fashion trends. Without going head to toe, a great way to introduce the trend is with accessories. Jane Shilton and Dolcis shoes have an array of styles from the must have polka dots and peek a boo shoes to pretty kitten heels which will transform any look.

Menswear

Ultimately, the trend for Men is casual with a hint of nice tailoring. Mexx have a great selection of comfy cotton trousers and surf inspired tees, which are great teamed with their smart sport jackets. Tailoring is an essential part of the Magee and Carl Gross collections with a wide selection of both formal and casual two-piece suits and jackets.

Casual blazer jackets from Carl Gross are a great buy as they can be mixed with trousers, jeans and a tee. Good news though, the sunshine doesn’t stop with the ladies, as colour is key for men this season with Boxfresh and 4You  having a great selection of colours to choose from including Hawaiian shirts.
