This
season sees an eclectic mix of trends from the admiral
styled ‘Military’ to the feminine ‘Victoriana’.
With a plethora of brands to choose from in Clerys
including Morgan, Karen Millen, Topshop,
Planet, Precis, Inwear, and CC,
you’ll have no problem finding a look to suit you this
autumn/winter.
Tailoring
is very much to the forefront this season and Planet
and Turnover have some classic pieces worth
investing in. This season sees the introduction of
jacquard and lightweight tweeds adding a twist to sharp
tailoring. Trousers are cut slightly wider, whilst jackets
are ultra feminine, shapely and curve enhancing.
While
not denying the need for a good black suit, which should
be a staple in every wardrobe, mix it up a little this
season with the introduction of soft white pieces like
pussy bow blouses, camisoles or corsets to achieve that
monochrome look. Brave the elements and wear a skirt suit
by Michael H ‘Gold’. Complete the look with an
oversized purse from Firorelli or Friss Company from
Clerys accessories department.
Military
themed collections are also in vogue and are a key element
of the current Warehouse collection. Mixing harder
edged looks with a soft, free falling skirt will achieve a
softer silhouette. Miss
Selfridge is definitely one department to check out if
you prefer the dramatic Russian influenced designs, but if
you aspire to the romantic Victoriana look, Morgan is
a must to visit.
If
you are looking to make a statement Karen Millens
gold brocade jacket is not for the faint hearted! Teamed
with matching shoes, bag and a pair of drain pipe jeans
you’re sure to turn heads. For those not so daring but
looking to stand out from the crowd LB has a
beautiful cream wool coat with faux fur cuff detail -
another of this seasons style statements.
Perennial
favourites Gerry Weber, Bianca, and Michel
Ambers have outdone themselves with an accessible take
on this season’s catwalk trends. Complimentary colours
to Irish skin tones including espresso browns, powder
blues, moss greens and berry purples make a strong
appearance across all brands. From the sophisticated suit
to occasion wear these brands won’t let you down.
However,
if you want something a little more quirky and innovative
its worth checking out Crea, Balu or
Imprevu all part of Clerys European Collections
department on the first floor. Minosa, Long Tall
Sally, Elvi and Windsmoor are also full
of this seasons hottest trends.
No
self-respecting fashionista can call an outfit complete
without a bag or shoes to complement her look. Karen
Millen’s Hitchcock bags, Suzi Smiths
tweed bags and Radleys leather bags will make it difficult
to choose just one to buy. Step into style with Karen
Millen, a girl after our own heart who has
designed matching shoes for all her bags. Dolcis, Jane
Shilton and Sisley also have a great selection of footwear
this season from sky-high heels, mod boots and fur lined
flats to choose from.
In
order to arrive in style, invest in a good winter coat
from Mexx, Naf Naf or Noa Noa, available in
the Ispire department, along with a host of other European
labels. Kangol have a great selection of angora mix
hats to keep that cold chill at bay, while Dents
have a wide selection of leather gloves in an assortment
of colours. However if that’s not enough to keep you
warm and dry look at investing in a Radley umbrella
for that extra edge in style.
Underwear
is as important as outerwear. With some beautiful,
feminine and funky designs to choose from in Clerys
Lingerie department, including Calvin Klein, Lejaby,
Chantelle, Dim and Triumph you may be tempted
not to go out doors at all.
With
changing seasons it’s also important to change your
makeup. Call to any of Clerys cosmetic counters where
staff will be happy to show you their new colours for the
season. Lancôme’s new Rose Mystère colours -
created by Gucci Westman - are especially designed to
complement this seasons colours, as are the Clinique
colour surge eye shadows in violets, pinks and tawnies.
