Children were thrilled to see Santa arrive at Clerys, O’Connell Street today (Thursday, 22^nd November) as he spectacularly abseiled down the front of the four storey landmark building for the first time ever.

“I have been arriving by chimney for a long time but on every occasion I end up covered in soot so I thought I should try something different this year! I am looking forward to meeting all the boys and girls again and hearing what you would like for Christmas”, Santa said after he arrived.

Santa’s Grotto is located on the first floor in the Children’s Department and he will be there every day until Christmas Eve. A visit to the Grotto is free of charge. However gifts can be purchased for €6 and high quality photos for €10.

Clerys is open every Sunday from 12pm and late night Fridays until 8pm in addition to extended opening hours from XX December, giving shoppers plenty of time to find the perfect present.
