Children and passers-by were thrilled to see Santa arrive at Clerys, O’Connell Street today (Thursday, 20^th November) as he spectacularly abseiled down the front of the four storey landmark building.

“I have been arriving by chimney for a long time but on every occasion I end up covered in soot! Last year I tried abseiling down the front of Clerys and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to do it again this year! I am looking forward to seeing all the boys and girls again and hearing what you would like for Christmas”, Santa Claus said after he arrived.

Santa’s Grotto at Clerys is located on the first floor in the Children’s Department and he will be there every day until Christmas Eve. A visit to the Grotto is free of charge. However gifts can be purchased for €6 and high quality photos for €10.

Clerys is open every Sunday from 12pm and late night Fridays until 8pm in addition to extended opening hours from 1^st December, giving shoppers plenty of time to find the perfect present. The 1^st December will also be the annual Christmas Customer Day when the store will open from 9am – 9pm with up to 20% off in all departments.
