This
season, an inspiring mix of trends has emerged from the global
catwalks. Coco has aided the revisit of that understated 40’s
glamour, the eccentric vibes of the 80’s are having a comeback
and for those who rather stick to the noughties, it’s time to
embrace the inner punk or unleash the gothic princess within. As
always each season, Clerys offers shoppers an extensive range of
leading high-street brands, including, Oasis, Sisley, Karen
Millen, Warehouse, Topshop, Thomas Sabo and more. With the
introduction of additional new labels, some of which include Yumi,
Mary Frances, Passigatti, Fossil and Charlotte Reid, there truly
is something for every style, shape and most importantly, budget!
The colour palette this autumn is awash with deep purples and
plums, bottle greens and charcoals and of course, the
ever-unrivalled black.
The
80’s are back!
It’s
all about power shoulders this fall and the bigger they are, the
better. For the ultimate evening look, check out Warehouse’
sequined blazer with monster shoulder pads (€104). To really
slip into the 80’s groove, team with a pair of stone-washed grey
skinnies (€52) also available from Warehouse. Leave it to Topshop
to deliver a neon-hued, printed antidote for the doom and gloom of
2009. The bright tomato and cerise pinks really lift the heavy
winter palettes and the almost Monét-esque designs sweep across
the store bringing an utterly careless feel to the collection.
Clerys favourites include; the oversized panda jumper (€68),
pink neon jersey blazer (€84) and faded jeggings (€30).
Get
Punk’d
In
each department, classic staples are given a dose of attitude with
zips, rips, studs and gems. New designer handbag label, Mary
Frances acts as queen of embellishment with her amazing gothic
inspired clutch complete with studs, jewels and feathers (€175).
Leather biker jackets are the essential ingredient needed to get
punk’d up and there’s no shortage of them either this season.
Clerys favourites include; Oasis’ black leather biker jacket with dulled silver asymmetrical
zips (€200), for the taller torso, Sisley
have a slightly longer than average nappa leather jacket
(€169) or Karen Millen’s
biker jacket is available in light moss green with open neck
(€399).
Classic
40’s
This
is the elegant option in a sea of outrageous trends. Think
tailored skirt suits and silk blouses with a touch of tweed or
houndstooth! Inspire label, Nice
Things bring us some unusually demure pieces with a tapestry
feel, their bottle green cardigan is bang on trend (€125).
For this season’s perfect oversized silk blouse,
celebrity favourite, Darling, has a number of beautifully detailed selections. Clerys
favourite: Nude pleat detailed blouse (€50), add to a classic
suit or pair with skinny jeans. If opting for the houndstooth,
give it an ultra modern feel and choose an oversized print like
Oasis’ silk dress (€81).
Accessories
Accessories
have never been as important as they are this autumn winter. For
many, splurging on new winter wardrobes is not an option and for
this reason, money can be spent simply revamping outfits by adding
the essential season’s bag or elbow length leather gloves from Dents. Add a feather headband from Bay Trading (€8) to really rev up the fash factor. Tights are also
another inexpensive way to glam up any outfit and although it may
be wishful thinking, they can be worn right through an Indian
summer to the first cools of winter. Regardless of the budget or
trend choice, the only remedy for breaking the downward spiral of
depression this season is irresistible glamour and Clerys
certainly has the answer.
